So, i know in the past I have made about 5 promises to start posting more on my blog, but this time i REALLY mean it. My life has been in such a whirlwind that to be quite honest, I just haven’t had the time for tumblr. However, in 2012 I’m taking things, including this blog, to another level.
Of course I’ll still be posting career related stuff, but also a little more personal things/feelings and fun things, like hauls and video posts and such. It should be fun. & i think it’ll be not only a release for me, but for you to get to know me a little better. After all, this is Chey’s journey.
Anywho, we’re three days into 2012 and like any other year I do have “resolutions” (for lack of a better word). I hate when people try to act like they don’t want to start anew or make some changes in the new year. BS if you ask me. I have things I want to change and accomplish in the new year, and writing them down and such really helps me do that.
BUT instead of sharing them with you all like I usually do, I think i’m going to keep them all to myself & reveal them as I accomplish them. ;) One little secret of mine, is that in 2012 I’m putting it all in God’s hands and whatever happens, HAPPENS. I’ll just hold it to the fact that God has a plan and sometimes His plans and my plans don’t align.
I have deemed 2012 as the year of PROSPERITY. Not just in material possessions, but in spiritual, emotional, mental, physical and any other way you can think of. I truly believe 2011 was a year of GROWTH for me and those close to me. 2012= PROSPERITY.

Hey there fashionistas!
It’s getting chilly outside and I’m sure we’re all still clinging to thoughts of our summer clothing favorites and wishing we could drag them right into the fall season. I may be speaking for myself but I still love some of my summertime garments and guess what? I turned them into transition pieces! How you ask did I do that? I’ll tell you .. Get ready for a Lesson In Style .
1. Autumn Rush Maxi: This colors of this maxi skirt are charged up with some crazy energy. At first glance you’d think, “This maxi is charged with summer energy.” Yes! You are right, but it can also double as great statement skirt for the fall. What I love about it is the ultra feminine length and willowy structure. The best way to skirt this piece into your fall wardrobe is topping it off with a tough black leather jacket and a pair of opaque tights. Skirt: $12
2. Native Beauty Dress: The pattern of this dress is so funky and hipster chic with a sexy twist! The colors aren’t too “summer vibrant” so it won’t be hard to turn this into a cute fall outfit. A super comfy (and chunky) waist length cardigan would really flow well with this dress. You can also throw on a cool crew neck sweater over the dress, and wear it as a skirt. Include some great necklaces and you’ve got yourself a cute date night or holiday party ensemble! Dress: $20
3. Siren: This blouse is so festive and perfect for the upcoming Christmas season. Now, I want you to imagine this awesome blouse paired with mustard corduroy pants. Then imagine yourself walking around on campus in this outfit, under the beautiful fall leaves. Picture perfect. And no, you will not look like ketchup and mustard. Top: $13
4. Crocodile Hunter Brooch: We all love animals and most of keep them as pets. As much as we think Crocodiles are um … adorable it’s safe to say they aren’t ideal pets. This cool croc brooch can give your outfit that extra touch it may need. I suggest a classic button down shirt and pleated skirt. Everyone you come across will wonder, “Who’s the hot professor?.” I’m just kidding, we don’t look old enough to be anything more than professors of style. Brooch: $10
I hope my advice was helpful and gave some insight on transition pieces and fall trends. I leave you with wishes of style successs. Godspeed my fashion Jedi’s.
